Lunar Collection
The Lunar Collection is a body of paintings structured around the rhythm of the lunar cycle, not as illustration, but as a framework for exploring shifts in perception, memory and place.
Each work considers the moon as a marker of time and transition, using repetition and variation to trace how landscapes (both external and internal) are experienced differently as cycles unfold.
Rather than depicting specific locations, the paintings move through liminal territories where observation and intuition overlap. Layered paint, drawing and gestural mark-making create surfaces that hold traces of movement, hesitation and return, allowing each phase to carry its own atmosphere within the wider cycle.
Across the series, the lunar phases act less as symbols and more as a quiet structure, a way of navigating change through painting. Colour, texture and line shift gradually from work to work, reflecting an ongoing enquiry into how landscape and inner experience intersect over time.
